Description

A French Bergère in Silk, on a Carved Elm Frame.

The Sebastian Club Chair takes the enclosed, rounded form of the eighteenth-century French bergère: an oval back, open padded arms with carved scroll arm fronts and a deep, loose seat cushion, all held in a carved elm frame finished to show the grain and wear of the wood. Turned, fluted legs with carved rosettes at the corners complete the Louis XVI profile.

It is offered in two silk upholsteries. Yellow Silk is bright and warm against the natural elm, while Mauve Grey Silk is soft and muted, paired with a frame in a paler grey-washed finish. Both cover the inside and outside back, the arm pads and the seat cushion.

At 27 inches wide with a seat height of 19 inches and a seat depth of 26 inches, it is a chair for reading, conversation and long afternoons, at home beside a fireplace, in a bedroom corner or paired in a drawing room.

Yes. Complimentary standard shipping is included on eligible orders delivered within the 48 contiguous United States and Washington, D.C.

We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, APO/FPO/DPO addresses, P.O. boxes, or international addresses.

How is large furniture delivered?

By freight, to your curb.

Large or heavy pieces ship by freight with standard curbside delivery. The carrier brings the packaged item to the curb, the end of the driveway, or another accessible point at your address.

  • Curbside delivery does not include bringing the item inside, carrying it upstairs, assembly, or packaging removal.
  • The freight carrier will usually contact you to schedule an appointment.
  • An adult may need to be present at the scheduled time.

Yes. You may request a return within 30 calendar days after delivery. To qualify, the item must be:

  • new, unused, unassembled, and unmodified;
  • complete with all original parts, hardware, and accessories; and
  • securely packed in its original packaging.

For change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for return shipping, a restocking fee of up to 25% may apply, and the original outbound shipping cost may be deducted. Returns must be authorized in writing before anything is sent back.

What if my item arrives damaged?

Tell us, ideally within 24 hours.

If anything arrives damaged, please:

  • Inspect the packaging at delivery and note any visible damage on the carrier's receipt before signing.
  • Unbox and fully inspect your item within 5 days of delivery, even if the box looks fine, and report any hidden damage within that time.
  • Take clear photos of the packaging, labels, delivery paperwork, and item.
  • Keep all packaging.

After review, the remedy may include replacement parts, repair, replacement, or a partial or full refund. We cover approved shipping costs for damaged, defective, missing, or incorrect items. Please don't refuse a delivery only because the box looks damaged. Document it and contact us instead.

We photograph and describe each piece as accurately as we can, but colors and finishes can look different depending on your screen and lighting. Natural variations in grain, tone, texture, and stitching are normal and are not defects.
